Mar 10, 2009 · Aero need a DirectX9 compliant GPU (and of course Driver model WDDM 1.x), you have a DirectX8.1 GPU (and I don't tkink you may have a WDDM 1.x driver). No way to get Aero working on it. Oh yes, you're right LePoilu, forgot about the DirectX9 requirement and sadly Radeon 9000 doesn't support that.

Apr 15, 2007 · ATI just never bothered (and who could blame them) with 3.1 drivers for the Radeon. Well, I also ran into the problem that my SBLive MS-DOS driver that worked fine in Dos would choke Windows 3.1 so it wouldn't start with the driver active. So running Windows with a crappy display and no sound wasn't worth my time. However, in Dosbox it runs great!
Jun 14, 2005 · A Radeon 9250 is basically a cut-down version of the 8500 and is also a DirectX 8.1 card. It's kind of odd that they would support an 8500 and not support a 9250 but given that your drivers look fine and it works fine with other games, it may be that they just won't support your card. There are also some slow DirectX 9 cards like the FX5200
